The Detroit Tigers have played their home games in some of the most recognizable baseball stadiums in the country. Today, the team plays at Comerica Park, a modern ballpark that opened in 2000 in downtown Detroit. The stadium is known for its open layout, views of the city skyline, and distinctive features such as the large tiger statues at the main entrance. Comerica Park was designed to provide a fan-friendly experience while still honoring the traditions of classic baseball parks.
Before Comerica Park, the Tigers played for many decades at Tiger Stadium, a historic ballpark located in the Corktown neighborhood of Detroit. Tiger Stadium was famous for its close seating, steep upper deck, and intimate atmosphere that kept fans close to the action. Although the stadium is no longer standing, it remains an important part of baseball history and is fondly remembered by fans. Together, Comerica Park and Tiger Stadium represent different eras of Detroit baseball and show how stadium design has evolved over time.
